On May 8, the 2nd China Huaiyang Cuisine Master Invitational Competition was officially launched in Huai’an City. More than 300 chefs from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shandong gathered for this event. Over 400 Huaiyang dishes were displayed. Vice Mayor Gu Kun attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. 14 high-level mainstream overseas Chinese media, including Japan Financial Weekly, were invited to attend the competition.
The competition also set up a food exhibition area on the spot, focusing on more than 120 dishes including traditional and innovative dishes of Huaiyang cuisine. The media and audience home and abroad on the spot praised greatly. These production and display of Huaiyang cuisine culture feasts not only reflected the green development of Huaiyang cuisine, but also vividly interpreted the delicate and exquisite characteristics of Huaiyang cuisine. The competition played a positive role in promoting the future development of Huaiyang cuisine.
